The streak ends on the Baxi Manresa’s court (98-96)
Valencia Basket saw its good streak in the
Endesa League end falling at the Baxi Manresa’s court by 98-96 in a game in
which the taronja squad got up several times to get back in, including an
eleven-point comeback in the last quarter to tie the game with two minutes to
play. In the final coin toss, a bucket by Robinson and a miss in Jones' shot
that would have forced overtime leaves the balance at 19-12 with three games
left. The taronja team started losing but Justin Anderson's entry into the game
sparked the offensive to reach a tie at 28 at the end of the first quarter. We
did not find the basket in the first five minutes of the second act, which
meant a 12-0 run that kept Valencia Basket behind, although the appearance of
Davies and Jones did not allow the disadvantage to grow any further and they
were nine points down at the half-time. After the break, the taronja team found
outside accuracy to get within three, but Badio and the second options that
Robinson converted into baskets kept the local team ahead, which once again
stretched the lead at the beginning of the last quarter with three-pointers
from Steinbergs. We held on to the game with a 0-9 run to tie the game it but
in the final stretch the victory remained in Manresa.
